RP Background:
Ace is a fun-loving rebel. He’s got a fascination with fire that borders on pyromania which has gotten him in no small amount of trouble, but he’s never set anything ablaze with any kind of bad intent. He just loves watching the flames flicker and dance. If his dad were still around or his mom were still alive they would probably forbid him from having anything to do with fire, but he and his brother (or technically half brother) Luffy wound up living with their dad’s friend Shanks long ago and Shanks is a much more lenient guardian. Shanks didn’t even punish Ace too bad for getting a tattoo, though the fact that the tattoo artist made a mistake on it resulting in an x-ed out S in the middle of the ACE going down his left shoulder didn’t hurt.
The fact that he has tattoos, carries a lighter, has been known to skip class, and has snuck into the pubs at Hogsmeade more times than anyone can count give him quite the reputation. However, Ace is actually a very nice guy. He tries to make friends with everyone no matter which house they’re in, always offers help to those in need, is almost surprisingly polite, and will go out of his way to make people laugh. Ace almost always wears an orange cowboy hat with two smile and frownie face buttons on it and he is never ever without a lighter and a pair of brightly colored bracelets (one of which has a small compass mounted on it).
If there is one thing in this world that Ace loves more than fire, it’s food. Both he and his brother can eat amazing quantities of it at a time and would often try and steal food from eachother’s plates. Luffy managed to win most of these little contests because of a technicality. Both brothers have narcolepsy, but have different triggers. Luffy’s isn’t very bad and he only tends to fall asleep unexpectedly after intense exercise such as running laps. Ace’s condition is worse and he mostly falls asleep when he has food. This has lead to him falling face first into whatever he happened to be eating at the time on a fairly regular basis. A few times people even thought he was dead before he sprang back up a while later and resumed eating his meal as if nothing had happened.
